Colourful Indian Wedding Photography in Wellington
Being an Auckland based wedding photographer, it was a real treat to get out of town to photograph Jayna and Tarun’s Indian wedding in Wellington. Their traditional Hindu wedding ceremony was held at the Wellington Indian Association hall in Kilbirnie.
We started the day nice and early with a first look and location shoot at Oriental Bay. Jayna and Tarun looked like royalty in their traditional Indian wedding outfits. The beautiful light at that time of the morning gave their photos a lovely, soft feel.
The scene outside the wedding venue was a photographer’s dream with guests dancing in wonderful, vibrant Indian attire with lots of sparkle and bling. I always find this part of an Indian wedding day so much fun to photograph. I love the big, passionate expressions and dance moves.
Jayna and Tarun looked so happy during their wedding ceremony. Looking out from the ceremonial area, they would have seen a sea of colour and smiles from their guests. Fabulously dressed guests are wonderful to photograph. I just love the colours and striking patterns that Indian people wear.
Once the ceremony, blessings and rituals were over, there was more dancing. Jayna and Tarun, and their family and friends broke out some impressive Bollywood style moves.
Alicia Scott photographed this fabulous wedding day with me. A massive thank you to Alicia for location scouting with me and being so fantastic to shoot with.
