Doing an engagement shoot before your wedding day is the best way to find your groove in front of the camera. Doing a shoot like this definitely makes for better wedding photos. It’s like a warm up before your big day that gives you the chance to get used to be being photographed, and to feel relaxed and comfortable about it. I’m told that people look really natural and at ease in my wedding photos. The engagement shoot is one of the reasons why.

Read On For My Approach To Engagement Shoots …
We start by deciding on a location for your engagement shoot together. You might have some places in mind. It could be where you had your first date or got engaged. No worries if you don’t, you can leave it up to me. I’ve done engagement shoots at beaches, on farms, in derelict buildings, up mountains and in lane ways. I spend a lot of time looking for locations that are out of the ordinary, ones that aren’t often used for couple photos. Having your photos taken where no-one else has is pretty cool because your photos will be unique and edgy.
My engagements shoots are very relaxed. You’ll have a good time. During your shoot we’ll chat, have a laugh and I’ll tell you lots of my funny wedding stories. We’ll get to know each other pretty well so on your wedding day, you’ll be chilled and comfortable with me around. You’ll just be yourselves. That’s the best way to be because it will come through in your photos.
You can expect to do stuff during your engagement shoot like…
Chat to each other while you’re having a coffee in a cafe, run down sand dunes together, wade through water while the sun’s setting, take your dog for a walk at the beach, go exploring in a cave or do some Kung Fu, it that’s what you’re into. So, in short, my engagement shoots involve couples doing cool stuff they usually do together while I take photos that show how loved up they are.
Even the most self-conscious couples that insist they’re not photogenic tell me how much they enjoyed being photographed and that the whole thing was fun. They’re amazed at how incredibly well they’ve photographed and know I’ll do the same for them on their wedding day.
After your engagement shoot and seeing your photos, you won’t be worried about how you’re going to look in your wedding photos or feel nervous when there’s a camera around. On your wedding day, you can just enjoy the day and get married, and I’ll take care of the photography.
I’ll give you your photos as edited, high resolution digital files. You can use them on your save the date cards, wedding invitations, display them at your wedding reception or however else you like.
